Our teaching methodology, based on the communicative approach, turns the language classroom into a dynamic learning eco-system..
Language Link's RLUS programme is the culmination of more than two decades of academic practice that began in the early 2000s, when the organisation operated as one of the largest network language schools. Since its launch in 2002, the programme—designed for undergraduate students specialising in Slavic studies—has evolved through ongoing academic dialogue with British university partners.
A significant role in shaping the academic framework of the programme was played by Elena Kallo, whose contribution focused on the conceptual and methodological development of the curriculum. Her involvement related to discussions on programme structure, academic expectations, and recommended literature. Rather than classroom teaching, her contribution lay in helping define the academic direction and foundational principles of the programme.
The current version of the programme builds on this academic foundation and experience, which was subsequently adapted for delivery in different international contexts following changes in the global study environment.
The programme has also benefited from academic exchange and feedback with university colleagues, including Lynne Attwood (RLUS), P. Bullock (University of Oxford), Ivan Gololobov (University of Bath), and Andrii Smytsniuk (University of Cambridge), whose scholarly perspectives have contributed to the ongoing refinement of its academic standards.
Our students all attend British universities and are fulfilling their year abroad language requirement. Our students normally study four academic hours a day.
As student levels can vary, all students undergo placement testing so as to ensure they are placed in a group of students with similar levels of language proficiency. If you would like the opportunity to join our team of teachers, please complete the form at the bottom of Our Teachers page.
